I'm Jennifer Quincey, PhD, owner of Banyan Tree Editorial Services, LLC.

A little about me:

Before establishing Banyan Tree in 2018, I served for 4.5 years as assistant director of the Institute for Humanities Research at Arizona State University (where I ran international book award and subvention grant programs, consulted on funding proposals, served as a grants and fellowships program officer, and edited all institute communications) and 3.5 years as a research administrator with the Institute for Humanities Research at Arizona State University (where I consulted and performed all-levels editing on grant and fellowship proposals and delivered presentations on proposal writing). I have a PhD in cultural anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis, am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, and am a certified peer reviewer (Elsevier).

Banyan Tree is a “one-stop shop” for academic authors in the humanities, arts, and social sciences. I offer book and grant proposal consulting and developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting to help you get from blinking cursor to printed word.

I have particular experience in anthropology, Jewish studies, Asian studies, and science and technology studies and have also worked with scholars in women’s and gender studies, Black studies, environmental humanities, Latin American studies, dance, art education, peace studies, Middle Eastern/Islamic studies, film and media studies, disability studies, labor studies, philanthropic studies, urban studies, urban planning, public health, climate change resilience, water resource management, business management, and international law and human rights.  

I am the copyeditor and journal manager for Techniques Journal; have edited over $21 million in grant and fellowship proposals to the NEH, ACLS, Luce Foundation, NSF, NIH, and beyond and received NSF and Wenner-Gren funding for my own research; and have consulted on contract-winning book proposals to Oxford University Press, Stanford University Press, Intellect Books, and University of Illinois Press.
